Curating spaces for those who create between cultures.

Living in New York for a year and feeling an overwhelming sense of belonging at events I was attending, I wondered why I hadn’t felt that same excitement at home in Toronto. Despite Toronto being a melting pot of diversity, I felt it lacked a safe space where BIPOC creatives could gather, empower and talk about shared experiences in the industry. This is how Blended TO was born. We wanted to create an event designed to celebrate those who created between worlds.

Priya Mistry, Founder and Design Lead | Ragini Rajpal, Founder and Marketing Lead | Kevin Pinto, 3D Lead

Held at Of Sorts® Studio in Toronto, we welcomed all those who break boundaries, bridge generational gaps, and live against the grain. While focusing on BIPOC experiences and wanting people to get uncomfortable and meet new friends, we split up the room of 67 people into 10 groups. Each group was given a question about their cultural identity and encouraged to share their experience on being a BIPOC creative navigating the diaspora in Toronto.

Social

Owning the idea of creating between 2 distinct worlds, we sparked conversation and intrigue with iconic creative living across TikTok and Instagram stories.

An unforgettable night of intimate conversation, empowerment and representation.

“It was so empowering to be in a room filled with those who understand my everyday struggle in the industry. I was feeling drained and disheartened being in advertising, but left seeing motivated and inspired. I’ve never felt so heard and seen at any other event in Toronto. Thank you so much Priya and Ragini for hosting this for us, I can’t wait to see you at the next one.” – Monika Mann, Designer @mmaan candles
